What Job Best Fits You?

We partner with small, medium and large organizations hiring technical professionals to drive digital transformation and technology modernization. Whether you’re looking for the next gig or a long-term opportunity, we can help you through your next career move.

Contract

Working an assignment for a fixed amount of time has its benefits. For one thing, employers tend to value extensive experience when hiring for these positions; bringing a technical professional in that can “hit the ground running” and do the job with little training is usually very important. Here are some other positives to consider:

  • Contractors with Patriot Talent Solutions have access to medical, dental, vision insurance, 401K, Life Insurance and paid holidays.
  • Patriot contractors receive consistent feedback on performance and project end dates/extensions while on assignment.
  • Contractors have an excellent opportunity to expand their network; the connections you make on contracts may result to more opportunities at a future date.
  • You have the opportunity to impress the employer which can lead to a full time offer.
  • Since you are being paid as a contractor instead of a full time employee, hourly compensation is typically more. You may also be eligible to deduct a portion of your work-related expenses that you wouldn’t normally qualify for.
  • You can be more selective in your career by sampling a number of employers by taking on a series of different contracts in a variety of industries.
  • Bottom line results are most important. Typically, what matters most in a contract position is the results that you produce for the employer within time, budget and scope. As a result, you may be able to avoid workplace politics.
  • If you don’t like to interview, typically contract position have a less strenuous interview process
Direct Hire

Direct hire positions are permanent, usually full-time positions. Patriot Talent Solutions is involved during the recruitment and hiring process, but after an offer is accepted, you will work for the client company. The process for direct hire can be a little slower because clients want to take their time when making a long-term decision.

Contract to Hire

Do you want flexibility in your work and don’t want to be stuck in a job or culture where you are not a fit? If so, contract to hire may be the right opportunity for you. A contract-to-hire job can be a win-win for both the employer and employee. Contract to hire opportunities are a hybrid of contract and direct hire.

Typically, these opportunities vary in duration from three months up to a year, with the opportunity to become full-time, permanent jobs at the end of the contract. This form of job is becoming more popular as companies look to try before they buy. Many of the benefits of contracting are also available with contract to hire opportunities.

Contract to hire jobs have many of the same benefits as typical contract positions. Before overlooking a contract-to-hire opportunity, here are things to consider:
