Knoxville, TN |Sr. Support Desk Engineer | Full time

We are actively recruiting a Sr. Support Desk Engineer for our client in Knoxville, TN. This position is a direct hire. Due to client request, qualified candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.


Responsibilities:

  • Provides top level phone and/or remote support to clients
  • Serves as an escalation point and mentor for Support Desk Engineers and Support Desk Technician
  • Performs proactive tasks, where Clients are concerned, in order to help newly onboarded businesses reach a healthy baseline
  • Active Directory Health, Network Time Synchronization Issues, virtual machine and host health etc.
  • Will understand performance indicators and interactions between servers and desktops and across various virtualization platforms
  • Administration, including add/remove users and groups, configure file permissions, check event logs, configure and restore from backup and enterprise email administration
  • Updates tickets through our current ticketing system according to established guidelines
  • Troubleshoots and quickly and completely resolves client issues over the phone and on site
  • Trains clients on system use

 

Experience:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Active Directory
  • Virtualization (Hyper-V and some VMware)
  • Workstation Deployment
  • PC & Server Support (HP, DELL and Lenovo)
  • Network support (Extreme and Aruba)
  • VLAN, Spanning Tree, IP Space
  • Routing is a plus but not essential
  • Internet, DNS 
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
 

Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science related field
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+., Microsoft MCP Certifications
