Position Overview:

You will be the founding member of our Site Reliability Engineering team responsible for pro-actively monitoring and creating alerts for in-house applications. Duties include investigation of production issues, establishing best practices for the team, contributing to architecture decisions, building tools and scripts to automate and improve updates, as well as researching and recommending tooling and platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As an SRE, you will bring a DevOps mindset to development and system administration, always looking for ways to automate manual work and create repeatable, scalable systems and processes.
  • Additional responsibilities of Site Reliability Engineer include:
  • Automate the manual steps remaining in deploying our applications
  • Work to improve our monitoring and alerting strategy
  • Support the adoption and migration to newer technologies and architectures
  • Assist teams with load and fault tolerance testing
  • Strive to find ways to increase site reliability
  • Help ensure security and compliance across systems and the network
  • Promote a positive DevOps culture that spans Software Engineering and Technical Operations
  • Participate in our on-call rotation

Essential Qualifications:

Team-oriented engineer who can collaborate with system administration and software engineering on team applications. Must be technically strong in DevOps practices while displaying consistent leadership skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities, analytical skills, and the ability to perform under tight deadlines are also essential.

  • 5+ years Windows Server and Linux experience
  • Experience administering web servers and web applications
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems
  • Passion for automation and strong scripting capabilities, including PowerShell and Bash
  • Familiarity with load-balancing and service discovery
  • Experience with solutions for APM, monitoring, logging, and alerting
  • Solid understanding of fundamental system administration and networking concepts, such as system security, DNS, TLS, firewalls, and load balancing
  • Experience with tooling for source control, continuous integration, and build toolchains
  • Ability to adapt to change, support multiple technology stacks, and pick up new skills
