  1. We are looking for a PowerBuilder Developer with proven experience developing enhancements to existing client/server applications using PowerBuilder, WinDev, WebDev, and SQL Anywhere. The position will be directly responsible for developing advanced accounting and PCI-compliant payment processing solutions.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Review, analyze, and modify software applications over a large codebase, including requirements gathering, documenting, coding, testing, and debugging
  • Participate in the architecture and design of the primary application, supporting services, and databases
  • Occasionally provide Tier 3 support of software applications, including bug fixes, report writing, and data alteration
  • Mentor junior developers through paired-programming, code reviews, and other means

 

Key Qualifications

 

  • 5+ years of experience and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of recent experience developing PowerBuilder applications with proven experience developing:
    • Database-driven client/server applications
    • Advanced accounting modules
    • PCI-compliant solutions
    • Web-enabled applications
    • Responsive user interface
  • 1+ years experience developing against SAP SQL Anywhere RDBMS with proven experience developing:
    • Database schema and table definitions
    • Complex SQL statements
    • Stored Procedures and Triggers
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle best practices including agile methodology, daily scrum, sprint management, sprint post-mortems, etc.

 

Additional Qualifications

 

  • Experience creating and releasing builds
  • Experience with PB 2017 is a plus
  • Must meet performance standards including attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to establish and meet target dates; must be able to multi-task effectively and handle multiple development projects
  • Conducts software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics and system risk and reliability analysis
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and communicate with all levels of users
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal, planning and organizational skills, and ability to work in a team environment
  • Self-starting mindset, knowing when and how to take initiative, e.g. recommending when to and when not to refactor code, identifying new technologies to adopt, minimizing technical debt, steering projects back on-course, etc.
